Eventfold vs Zeffy

If your group is an eligible nonprofit, Zeffy is hard to beat on cost: it charges no platform or card fees and is paid for by optional tips from your supporters. Eventfold is a different trade. It charges buyers a flat 75¢ per paid ticket plus card processing, and it works for groups Zeffy does not serve.

Zeffy's details are from its own pricing page and eligibility page, checked October 14, 2026. Zeffy says it relies on optional tips from donors and that on average 2 out of 3 donors tip. Eventfold's fee is flat and shown to the buyer before they pay. Free events cost nothing on Eventfold. Try your own numbers in the fee calculator.

When Zeffy is the better fit

If you are a nonprofit with an EIN and a bank account in the organization's name, Zeffy costs your organization nothing, and Zeffy lists PTAs, PTOs, student groups, sports teams, theatre companies and scout troops among the groups it serves. If your supporters are comfortable with an optional tip prompt at checkout, Zeffy is likely the cheaper choice for you, and it is an established product with a much larger user base than Eventfold.

When Eventfold is the better fit

  • Groups Zeffy does not accept. Zeffy is for organizations, and it lists individuals and for-profits as ineligible. Eventfold works for an informal community group, a cultural association without an EIN, or a business running an event.
  • No tip prompt. Buyers see one fee (75¢ plus processing) before they pay, rather than a contribution prompt.
  • Built for community events. Family passes, access codes for members-only events, waitlists and QR check-in are part of every event.

Eventfold launched in October 2026, so it has a smaller audience and fewer integrations than Zeffy.
